James Isley, Jr. b. September 18, 1825 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England, and died on September 4, 1890 in LaMotte, Iowa. He was a carpenter. He was buried in East Hill Cemetery, LaMotte, Iowa.

He was married to Mary Ann Sealey in 1847 in Jersey City, N.J., she was born in 1828 in England. She died in 1854 in Jersery City of tuberculosis.

He was a carpenter, and served as a private in the Union Army during the Civil War from 1862-1864. He died of lupus.
