January-February
Our first skiing trip to RoundTop with Micah and Jamie.

Jamie's basketball team played in the local gym for the month of January

Dad's 70th birthday party on Feb 13th at Solomon's Porch brought out quite a crowd. We even did a massive Mad Lib on his life story!

Micah's QuizBowl team placed second to the other Mechanicsburg Middle School team in their tournament this year. He was team co-captain.
Micah's special ensemble choir sang at the Harrisburg Capital building.
This is out of sequence, but I cannot remember when we did these little hikes.
March
Our new chiminea in the yard is where we started making dinner and desserts this spring.
April
Easter egg coloring, and hunting with the whole Grantham neighborhood gang.
We also attended our first Yankees baseball game the day before the birthday bash

June
Miami trip for General Conference with Youth Group. We took 12 youth group kids to be a part of the first BIC general Conference in Spanish-speaking Miami. We saw the installation of our first hispanic bishop, Eduardo Llanes. We also spent a LOT of time in the pool!
July
Birthday Bash in NY this summer was lots of summer outdoor fun and games. Tractor rides, Grandma's famous 10-ton chocolate fudge cake, and lots of cousins always make for a memorable day.

Mexico Trip
Jamie & Geoff went with Geoff's parents, his aunt & uncle from Kansas, and some others from his Dad's church in New York to visit our friends and brothers in Christ in Toluca. We saw the Pyramids of Teotihuacan, the Ixtapan de la Sal water park, the Cosmovitral's stained glass, gardens and exotic mushroom exhibit.

We alos toured Mexico City on the top of a double-decker "Turibus," saw Hector's new plastics fabrication facility, shopped in the open air markets, and heard Geoff's Dad preach twice.

Most of the group stayed 2 weeks, but Geoff & Jamie left after one week, so we could be home to join the family for our annual Cape May beach vacation.

August
Cape May -- camping at the shore. Perry turned 16 this year at the beach, so he has been learning to drive.

The boys got to ride Dale's fishing boat on the hottest day of the year.

We did a lot of mini-golf too.

September
Dad's illness

We found out Geoff's father had brain tumors and he was soon diagnosed with multiple Stage 4 melanoma. We visited him in the hospital in late September. He only wanted God to glorified in his life, and was mostly concerned about Geoff's Mom and he ability to cope with his being so dependant on her.

A new roof on garage this summer was the only big home improvement project.
The boys all went back to school this fall. Jamie to 5th grade, Micah to 8th, and Pery in 10th grade.
Jamie's Clubs group shot rockets off this year at the annual Clubs picnic.
October
Dad's illness continued to worsen. His hair mostly fell out in October aafter radiation therapy on his brain tumors. He was very tired but still very positive he would be healed.

Holloween costumes and Perry's Prom night.
We tried a few pitch-n-putt golf outings with the boys this summer in New Holland, near Dawn's parent's place.
November
Thanksgiving a week early in NY. Dad was still in the hospital at this point, extremely weak and not able to talk more than a few words at a time. We had a famiily feast at Solomon's Porch.

Aunt Carol and Uncle Dan flew to NY with Pappy (96) to visit Dad. They left Nov. 21.

Dad died Nov. 24, early in the morning after Thanksgiving Day.
December

Alfredo (left of Hector -- next to the cow) came from Toluca just to practice his conversational English with us in PA for three weeks, which ended up being mostly driving back and forth to NY for sad family events.

Mexican friends Hector and Keren came from Toluca for Dad's funeral.
